The Victorian Skatepark League
We are excited to partner with YMCA and the Victorian Skate Park League who will be kicking off round 1 of the South Eastern metro series. The music will be pumping, skate, scooter and BMX tricks will be on display throughout the day drawing hundreds of enthusiastic spectators who champion young talent in the concrete bowl and street park. Each contestant will be putting it all on the line to take home the points in round 1.
The VSL is the largest and most established series of skate and BMX competitions in Australia. Since 2007 the VSL has grown to include 44 individual competitions, each competition is free and any amateur BMX rider or skateboarder can enter.
The VSL has over 600 participating members and an average annual attendance of 10,000 + spectators, family and supporters. The VSL is the only formal progressive pathway that regularly provides a consistent platform for amateur development.
This League concept encourages a commitment through ongoing participation, where members build up points and qualify for the Grand Final. Members have a choice of how many and which events they will attend.
As a youth orientated event, youth participation is integral to the success of the program. Riders may choose to participate in different ways, either by directly competing in the events, supporting friends and family, or simply to enjoy the atmosphere.
The South Eastern metro series has run its competition at Mt Eliza for a few years now and excited to now bring it together with the MY Mount Eliza Festival.
